Library education within Nepal prior to 1995 was merely a daydream. It was " a dream come true" for library students when Tribhuvan University set up the Central Department of Library and Information Science in 1995. At Kirtipur Campus, the Department offered Bachelor of Library and Information Science program, a one-year academic course in the same-year. The first batch of Bachelor of BLISc passed out in 1996 AD. It took two years for them to feel the necessity to unite among themselves. By the time two more subsequent batches of such degree holders had come out. Well, in 1999, the first batch graduates took the initiative and established Tribhuvan University Library Science Students' Alumni Association. Even since the alumni association is acronymic ally known as TULSSAA. It is registered with the Kathmandu CDO Office as non-government, non-partisan and non-profit organization.
